Attention All Kratom Warriors:
As legislative sessions start up around the country, we expect to see a number of kratom ban bills filed in various states. The FDA has been aggressively disseminating their disinformation at the state and local levels and have incited many well-intentioned but misinformed anti-drug advocates to target kratom as a "dangerous drug".
The AKA is working in more than 35 states to promote the Kratom Consumer Protection Act (KCPA), and we will vigorously fight any ban proposals. The FDA will be working hard too, and that is evidenced by a ban bill that was proposed in Mississippi.
We encourage kratom advocates to join the Kratom Consumer Council (KCC) to be prepared for an organized and targeted grass-roots advocacy campaign. Launching attacks against any bill sponsor who files a kratom ban bill will be counter-productive.
To illustrate, the sponsor of the kratom ban bill in Mississippi has been very willing to discuss this issue, and is considering supporting the KCPA. We know that will be possible in other states if we carefully manage how we respond when we see new ban legislation.

Equally important, a ban bill that is filed does not mean that it will pass, and it is not the end of the world. Just last year, we defeated ban bills in Hawaii, Missouri, New Hampshire, Virginia, West Virginia, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Mississippi, Illinois, South Dakota, Louisiana, and Maryland.
We will continue to be vigilant in our efforts to protect the legality of kratom and allow consumers to have the freedom to make informed decisions on kratom products they use to maintain their health and well-being.
Thanks for all of your support to protect kratom.
